About the Series

The Author
Andrea Erne was born in 1958 in Stuttgart, Germany. She studied German, politics and cultural studies and began her career as an editor for a daily newspaper. She then moved to a large children's book publisher, and later began working freelance as an editor and author for book publishers and newspapers.
The Illustrator
Markus Humbach was born in 1969. From childhood, painting has been an essential part of his life. He studied visual communication (graphic design) with a focus on illustration at the Münster School of Design. He lives in Osnabrück with his wife and daughter and has been working freelance for well-known publishers, museums and advertising agencies since 1996. His naturalistic drawings reflect his intentional gaze and great dedication as well as the childlike curiosity he’s never lost. For his work, he received a scholarship from the Aldegrever-Gesellschaft to study at Edvard Munch’s studio in Oslo.
