A single night has turned Joy's world upside down: from now on, she must hide her feelings – or she will have to fight the young prince she never should have fallen in love with in one of the cruel masked duels. But the curse is still looking for its tragic lovers and the game of life and death at the academy takes a dangerous turn.

About the Series

Hardly anybody knows that Shakespeare’s play “Romeo & Juliet” is based on actual events … Even today, there is a curse on the warring families of Romeo Montague and Julia Capulet: every seventeen years, a pair of lovers from both houses must sacrifice themselves. Joy is completely unaware of her dangerous heritage until two mysterious young men abduct her and take her to a secret academy. They tell her that her real name is Joy Capulet, that she must participate in a game about life and death – and cannot, under any circumstances, fall in love with a Montague.

The Author

Sabine Schoder studied graphic design in Vienna, where she fell madly in love. Today she lives with her husband 200 kilometers north of Verona and devotedly serves her two cats (princes), who are not only after snakes, but all kinds of creatures in her wild and romantic garden. The idea for her trilogy "The Romeo & Juliet Society" came to her during a trip to Verona, which took her to the famous (albeit fake) balcony of Juliet.
