Content

This very first read-aloud story takes kids aged 12 months and up on an exciting journey of discovery through the forest and along the water. The little chick explores its surroundings and encounters many different animals. The beaver's fur is cuddly soft and the kingfisher has bright blue feathers. Varied tactile elements promote motor development in young children. Catchy, short rhymes encourage children to join in and repeat the words.

The Author

Maria Höck, born in Zell am See (Austria) in 1991, is a freelance children's book editor, author and translator. She trained as a bookseller and studied book science in Munich and digital publishing in Oxford. After working as a publishing editor and product manager, she set up her own text studio. She lives with her family in Munich.

The Illustrator

Lisa Rammensee, born in 1990 in Nuremberg, studied communication design in Trier and illustration in Hamburg and now works as a freelance illustrator on children's books and cookbooks. She lives with her small family on her farm Meisennest in Saxony-Anhalt, where she pursues her passions between her desk, vegetable patches, fruit trees and chickens. And when she's not creating lively characters at the drawing table, she's probably baking bread or taking long walks with her little family and her dog Koji.
