About the Series

The books in the "Reading Raven – Level 1 Short and Easy" series were developed with the help of educators and are aimed at absolute beginner readers from Year 1. They are characterized by particularly short texts in large primer font, direct speech in speech bubbles and a high proportion of images, boosting children's reading motivation and reading skills at the very start of their reading journey.

The Author

Iris Tritsch was born in 1975 in Bonn. She studied German literature, history and protestant theology and now lives with her husband and two young daughters in Velbert.

The Illustrator

Carola Sturm, born in 1965, was already enchanted by picture books as a child and later studied communication design with a focus on illustration. She worked in a Frankfurt advertising agency for a few years. She illustrated a cardboard picture book for her first daughter, for which she quickly found a publisher. She then set up her own business as an illustrator in the children's book sector, her motto: "I draw the way I would have liked it best as a child." When she's not painting, she loves to be out in nature with her dog and bike.
