Willy the Wacky Raccoon is the world’s only raccoon who lives under a park bench in a lovingly converted boot box. He and his friends have lots of nutty adventures in the city park – soapbox racing, attending the toothpaste festival, ‘A’ betting, or filling a bathtub to the brim with mango yoghurt with his squirrel friend Alice. And if Willy ever runs out of crazy ideas, he just pulls something out of his AED, his ‘Absolute Emergency Drawer.’

The Author

Markus Hennig worked as a radio editor for many years and now lives as a freelance author with his family in Cologne, close to a park. Most of the time, his schedule is filled with writing funny scripts for television. He won the Grimme Prize for the "Wetten dass...?" special on "switch reloaded." As head writer for "ZDF Magazin Royale," he also won the German Television Award twice. For decades, there wasn't a single children's book by him to read, then suddenly two at once: "Waschbär Willi Wunderquatsch - Die Erfindung der Trompetenwurst und weitere verrückte Abenteuer" (Willie the Raccoon's Crazy Inventions - The Invention of Trumpet Sausage and Other Crazy Quests) and "Die Sekundenochs" (The Second Oxen). If lightning doesn't strike his Ab-No-Schu, maybe another one will follow.

The Illustrator

SaBine Büchner was born in Wuppertal, Germany, in 1964 and has lived in Berlin with her family since 1996. She has a degree in animation and communication design with a concentration in illustration. After working in animation for many years and contributing to numerous animated films, she was awarded the Troisdorf Picture Book Award in 2006 and has been a freelance illustrator for diverse publishers ever since.
