My Picture Dictionary: Our Animals

This book features farm and forest animals as well as native animals that live by the water and wild animals that live in other parts of the world. Divided into habitats, children can learn more about the pony on the farm, the giraffe in the savannah, the polar bear in the Arctic and many other animals from all over the world, encouraging them to talk about the pictures and learn new words. Short, age-appropriate texts explain the animals' characteristics.

About the Series

With these first dictionaries, children aged 2 and over can already learn the correct terms for the depicted objects. Child-friendly illustrations make it easy for young children to recognize and name them. Short texts describe characteristics and distinctive features in an age-appropriate way, encouraging children to talk and promoting vocabulary development. The Author

Susanne Gernhäuser, born in Nuremberg in 1966, studied history and German language and literature at the University of Stuttgart. During her studies, she worked at the Historical Institute, where she published several essays and worked for a schoolbook publisher. Later, she was responsible for the regional studies book program at a Stuttgart publishing house. Since the birth of her two sons, she has been working as a freelance editor for various publishers and has written numerous books for Ravensburger Buchverlag. She lives near Lake Constance.

The Illustrator

Ursula Weller was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She chose drawing and painting as her focus of study at the Institution for Organization in Pforzheim. She then worked as a jewelry designer and illustrated title pages for children's books part time. She has devoted herself primarily to children's illustrations since 2003.
