Reading Raven – Pre-Reading Level: Pinu the Penguin Warms Up

Fritz isn't sure whether he should be excited that he's allowed to take the class mascot, penguin Pinu, home for the weekend. He's supposed to write down all the plush toy's adventures. However, he would never have thought that the little penguin would suddenly come to life and tag along to go sledding and building igloos. One slippery adventure follows the other and Fritz is wondering what Pinu's next prank will be.

About the Series

Many children start showing an interest in exploring letters and reading as early as kindergarten. That’s exactly what we’ve developed our pre-reading level for. It allows children 5 years and over to make first reading experiences together with their parents. Nouns are replaced with images, making it easy to involve children in the reading process.

The Illustrator

Vera Schmidt was born in Lisbon in 1974. Even as a child, she scribbled on absolutely everything she could set a brush or pen to, and from an early age she knew she wanted to earn her living by drawing. After a year at Prof. Hans Seeger’s art academy in Munich, she studied communication design in Augsburg. Thereafter she was the art director for the Saatchi & Saatchi advertising agency in Frankfurt before launching her career as a freelance illustrator in 2004. When she isn’t at her desk, she practices yoga, travels the world, and is a passionate diver. With her work she aims to inspire joy and good moods.
