Content

Nixies really do exist—and they are dangerous. Growing up, Devin has had this drummed into her again and again. When she inadvertently lures her crush too far into the lake and he winds up in hospital, Devin discovers that she has the powers of a nixie. In an attempt to control them, she has to start attending the School of Myth and Magic, alongside witches, dragons, vampires and a very charming faun. It’s there that she discovers the truth: the only beings capable of what she did at the lake were members of a caste of nixie warriors, long since eradicated. Devin would prefer to keep the fact that she is a descendant of these disgraced warriors a secret at all costs. But that turns out not to be so easy, particularly with a dangerous incubus causing havoc around the school. The incubus, who goes by the name of Kassian, feeds on the fear of his victims—and he seems to have a particular interest in Devin.
