Josch the Fog and his friend Daggi, a stick insect, are called into the rain forest because a mysterious monster is doing terrible things there. It is ripping out all the trees and taking the animals' habitats away. The presumed monster turns out to be a digger, steered by humans, that clears the trees in order to make way for new plantations. Josch and Daggi help the animals defend their home. But then there's a dangerous accident ... This exciting story is complemented by a page with fascinating factual information about the rain forest and the animals who live there. In addition, Daggi the stick insect provides plenty of practical tips on how children can protect nature and the environment at home.

The Illustrator

As a child, Helge Vogt wanted to become a paleontologist, but at some point he realized he would rather draw dinosaurs and monsters than to dig them up. He illustrates and draws comics for numerous publishers, and lives in Berlin.
