A school for human children? A very strange institution if you ask the three former strays King Kerl, Big Ben and Flirty! Why do Joy and her friends have to sit still all the time? Good thing there’s a Feel-Good Week they are allowed to attend! Originally, that extended only to King Kerl, but of course it’s much more fun with all three of them! It also means they're much better placed to find out why this boy named Pepe can’t seem to stand Joy at all.

About the Series

The 3 strays go through thick and thin together, even if they're knee-deep in … um, in trouble. Knee-deep incidentally meaning something different for each of them.

The Author

Anja Fröhlich has been writing children’s books for twenty years and loves marvelling at things for professional reasons alone. Since her son is grown and her husband is a travel journalist, she gets the chance to do that in the remotest regions of the world – just like the donkey and the squirrel. But Anja enjoys being home in Cologne just as much, where she has lived since studying film studies, art history and psychology.

The Illustrator

Pe Grigo, who was born on a Friday just before Christmas, has been drawing since she was two years old. She turned drawing into her profession, and for many years she has illustrated stories for old and young alike, with all her heart and soul. When she ventures from her studio under the roof (a great place to spot approaching reindeer and sleighs), you are likely to find her walking in the snow-covered Teutoburg Forest or in the garden behind her sunny yellow house.
