About the Series

The books in the "Reading Raven – Level 1 Short and Easy" series were developed with the help of educators and are aimed at absolute beginner readers from Year 1. They are characterized by particularly short texts in large primer font, direct speech in speech bubbles and a high proportion of images, boosting children's reading motivation and reading skills at the very start of their reading journey.

The Author

Julia Breitenöder, born in Bonn in 1972, lives in Frankfurt with her family. After studying special education and spending a year in Cairo as an au pair and flying around the world as an airline stewardess, she has arrived where she always wanted to be: writing stories.

The Illustrator

Cathy Ionescu, born in Koblenz in 1984, grew up in Dortmund and Münster. She studied art history, architecture, design and illustration in Bonn, Dortmund, Münster and Seoul. She lives and works as a children's book illustrator in Münster. Her favorite things to draw are horses, dachshunds and oil tankers
