Content

Listening to your gut feeling, saying stop, setting boundaries, preventing abuse, developing body awareness and self-confidence – all these important topics are featured in the Protection Rap, written by Sonja Blattmann from the MuT-Zentrum (Center for the Prevention of Violence).
Using everyday situations, this picture book playfully strengthens children's self-confidence and shows them how to set boundaries and express their needs even at a young age, reinforced by the catchy song and the video included in this book. The corresponding movement sequences provide children with a very concrete additional resource.

The Author

Sonja Blattmann, born in 1962, worked as a teacher in her first career. Through her experiences at the Child Protection Center in Bremen, she became fully committed to the issue of prevention, especially against sexual violence. As co-founder of the women's counseling center in Lörrach in 1992, protecting and empowering kids is her greatest concern. In 1994, her first book, "Ich bin doch keine Zuckermaus" (I'm Not a Sugar Mouse), was published. In the same year, she qualified as a theater educator and in 2003 as a sex educator. Today, she works as an author, sex educator, speaker, and children's songwriter at the MuT Center for Violence Prevention, which she founded in 2011 together with Karin Derks. Sonja Blattmann is known for her diverse methods. Humor and joie de vivre are her favorite tools of the trade.

The Illustrator

Marina Halak, born in 1994, grew up in Ukraine. She moved to Germany in 2016 and has been working as a freelance children's book illustrator for publishers, authors, and magazines worldwide since 2020. When she's not drawing, she spends time with her family, reading books, collecting beautiful things, and trying out new recipes.
