Content
The donkey is happily sleeping in a four-poster bed of straw, Mrs. Hedgehog is dreaming about her darling cactus Leopold, the dog is snoring underneath the pear tree and even the snail is taking a nap. But what's this? A loud "cock-a-doodle-doo" puts an end to their slumber! The boar, the rat, the donkey, the hedgehog, the dog and the snail: they are all woken up by the rooster's crowing ... Job done, the rooster wants to lie down himself and have a bit of a rest. But will the other animals let him?
The Author
The "Ohrrüben" project is a creative collaboration between children's book author Kathrin Lena Orso and musician and narrator Jens "Ohrenblicker" Wenzel. The two musical and rhyming acrobats met in 2016 in the master class of the Celler Schule für Textdichter (Celle School for Lyricists). As Ohrrüben, they have been conjuring up musical fresh food for kids and anyone who wants to become one. They love imaginative stories, travel through dream worlds, meet funny animals and people, and listen to the melodies of nature, which they release into the world as catchy tunes.
The Illustrator
Christian and Fabian Jeremies, born on August 30, 1979 in Kassel, grew up in Bad Hersfeld. It was clear from an early age that they wanted to do something creative. Both attended the technical college for design in Fulda and then studied children's book illustration at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Münster. The twins differ in their painting style. One likes to work realistically and draws crazy caricatures, the other cute drawings and more whimsical. Before each book project, they discuss who will take on which part. The two complement each other perfectly. Their shared dream of happiness is that they will still be happily designing children's books at the age of 80. They want to still be able to find their books in bookshops at the age of 90 and meet adults at the age of 100 who say: "I loved your books as a child!" Today, the two freelance children's book illustrators and authors live with their dog and cat in Münster and the Ruhr region.
