The Author

Susanne Gernhäuser, born in Nuremberg in 1966, studied history and German language and literature at the University of Stuttgart. During her studies, she worked at the Historical Institute, where she published several essays and worked for a schoolbook publisher. Later, she was responsible for the regional studies book program at a Stuttgart publishing house. Since the birth of her two sons, she has been working as a freelance editor for various publishers and has written numerous books for Ravensburger Buchverlag. She lives near Lake Constance.

The Illustrator

Monika Neubacher-Fesser was born in 1959. After studying graphic and design in Kassel she worked for an advertising agency in Hannover. Since the birth of her first child in 1988 she has been working as a free lance illustrator. She also writes books on the subjects of silk painting and hobby and crafts. Monika Neubacher-Fesser lives with her husband and two children in Hannover.
